   Snapper,

   I just recently got back into Disc golf after being absent for about 14 years. However, about 24-25 years ago….while my mom was pregnant with me…you played with my dad Ron Lingard and my “Uncle” Pat Jenkins. I told my dad that I started playing again, and he told me stories about disc golf with Snapper. He said that he helped to pour some of the cement pin holes. If its true, I’m proud to continue in my dad’s footsteps and enjoy the game as much as he did and still does.

   Greetings Snapper,
   In 1980 I was 14 and visiting my uncle, who was in the Navy at that time, stationed in S.D. He dropped me off one day at Morley Field, while he was visiting the V.A. hospital in Balboa. He had given me $5 and pointed me twords the “Disc Hut”, telling me to ask for a rental disc ($1) and “Have fun!” When I approched the “Hut’s” counter, you greeted me with a smile. You gave me my first disc that day (for the $5) a #175 Roc, and told me “Here ya go kid – Have fun!” Here we are 29 years later, I have three kid’s of my own. And we’re still “having fun” playing the game you taught me to play and love, so long ago. Thank you, Snapper

   I curl the disc towards my body at the wrist during the reach back. A buddy swears that if I keep my wrist straight through the reach and pull, while snapping the wrist out on release, my distance will improve by a good bit. While this seems to make sense, I found and read your “Disc Golf Tips” page and it also seems, based on your own descriptions, that roll my wrist as well!

   I’m frankly astonished, because in less than one hour I’ve discovered what’s been bothering me for more than three years! It all makes perfect sense when you consider that every disc in my bag is overstable and heavy: all this time I thought I needed these for power control when it’s actually because they’re the only discs that will hold a decent line due to wrist curling and rolling. Amazing!

   Anyway, could spare a few words more on the problems of curling and rolling the wrist? It’s obvious I have some painful months ahead of me relearning how to throw a disc, since my entire “game” is tooled around my bad wrist technique. Any further tips and advice on this subject will be greatly appreciated and revered as gospel – bless you…

   Hi Snapper I learned to play back in 79′. I was taught by a fratunity brother and friend of yours, Kelly Rowe. I have a few friends that have been looking for any info on him. Could you pass on any contact info on him if you have it. Thanks Tory the disc I got from you have warn out, do you have any replacements?

   hello snapper, I dont know if you remember me but in the early 80′s you got me and my brother dennis started playing disc and we used to play with you at morley, we moved to washington in 84 and stayed playing the game couse were lucky enough to move right next to a course that was begining to develope, its called fort stiellacoom discgolf course. well I remember those fun great days with you and everybody, I’m coming to san diago soon and I hope to play with you at my home course well I dont know if I can call it that now but the first place I play discgolf.

    Hey Snapper and Morley affiliates,
    Six years ago i approached the pro shop after being talked into going with my buddies to learn “frisbee” golf. I walked up and decided on the spot that i would buy my first disc instead of rent, because i assumed i would be back more than once. I asked you if i could get a green midrange. You showed me a green buzzz and explained to me that it is a great first disc. My response was “i liked to get buzzed!” and so i purchased a 172g Bar Stamp Buzzz. I didn’t realize then that i would get so involved in the sport, and to this day i still have my old buzzz(it still out-drives my drivers!). I no longer live in San Diego and i’m not sure when i will be back to play, but i just wanted to say thank you for changing my life in a positive way and thank you for running a great course!

    I am proud to say I tied for 3rd at this years Sylmar Open 2013 GM with Snapper at -3 Good guy and great golfer
